  • 2 x 45-minute mentoring call each month delivered by Skype.

My name is Deborah Taylor and I have over 12 years’ experience as an editor with major blue chip UK publishers such as BBC Books, Hodder & Stoughton, Cassell plc and Pearson Education. I am passionate about self-publishing and helping business owners write and publish purposeful, high-quality books that truly deliver results for their business.

I have published hundreds of books with hundreds of authors. I gained my extensive publishing experience as both a project editor, managing books through the publication process, and a commissioning editor, selecting books to publish for the companies I worked for.

I have proven business experience as I doubled the value of my lists in 18 months as a commissioning editor, attracted top-name authors and organisations and developed new publishing areas. I know what it takes to make the kind of business decisions and strategic moves that make publishing a book both profitable and worthwhile.

Few of the authors I worked with were professional writers and most were selected as authors because they were experts in their field. They were coaches, cooks, gardeners, scientists, therapists, outdoors enthusiasts, sportspeople and business owners. But they all had one thing in common: they were passionate about what they did and few of them had ever written a book before.

Now, I want to use that experience to help you write your book and get it published.

How I can help

The truth is simple: when you are writing a book, you need the opportunity to discuss your ideas, get feedback and be held accountable so that you do the work. That is why I have put together a programme that offers much more contact, feedback and accountability than the usual mentoring model. I will help you:

  • Support you through the tricky revisions process where your confidence may wane.
  • Read your book at every stage and give you feedback to make it excel.

Every two weeks, we will get together via Skype so we can discuss your progress and make sure you are working on the right thing at the right time.  As well as your Skype sessions, you will also have contact with me via email so you can contact me whenever you have questions that need answering between calls or need a boost.
